If revenge is a dish best served cold, then betrayal should most always be presented piping hot. And what better way to steam up your February 14 but with an anti-Valentine’s Day performance of “Betrayal?”

We’ll be serving champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries before the performance and at intermission, so come early, get a good seat, and enjoy the show!

It’s hard to believe that our first play of the season opens (gulp) in only a few short days!

After weeks of preparations – from casting, to securing a venue and tediously rehearsing – the cast and crew of ‘Betrayal’ are ready to perform.

On Sunday, we kicked off the production’s opening week with a load-in at The Off Center. The adrenaline continues pumping this Wednesday, when we embark on our final dress rehearsal.

The Chaotic Theatre Co. Presents ‘Betrayal’ by Harold Pinter

The Chaotic Theatre Company is delighted to announce our first production of 2013: Harold Pinter’s ‘Betrayal,’ directed by Andrew Black.

Starring Sam Grimes, Carrie Stephens, and Andrew Black, ‘Betrayal’ opens on a meeting between former lovers Emma and Jerry, whose long-term affair ended two years earlier. Now that Emma’s marriage to Robert, Jerry’s best friend, is on the rocks, she is in need of someone to talk to. Their reminiscences reveal that Robert knew of their affair and, to Jerry’s dismay, regarded it with total nonchalance.

Thereafter, in a series of contiguous scenes, time moves backward – from the end of Emma and Jerry’s love affair to its beginning. This movement throws into relief the lie and oblique remarks that, in reversed time, reveals more than direct statements or overt actions ever could.

Hibernation

We’re still in hibernation as we revamp our systems and gear up for the exciting future. It won’t be long before another production is up and running.

As life throws you lemons, you try to make lemonade. Due to some unavoidable life circumstances, we needed to take a step back… even from juicing lemons.

We’ve now begun to squeeze those lemons, only this time we’ve found many great friends and fans with vodka, and we’re soon to make lemon drops.

You can now buy your tickets for “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” online through Austix for $15 each. The show will run from September 9-25 on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8pm and Sunday matinees at 5pm. The play is a parody of all William Shakespeare’s works, crammed into 97 minutes. Be sure to make it to the opening night–we’ll be serving champagne! We’ll see you all on the 9th!
